Summer Wednesday Afternoon Golf 2011
This year's Summer Wednesday Afternoon Golf will be run by Alan Baldwin and John Toplis with Rob McGregor once again applying his mathematical wizardry to tracking the eclectic scores.
First competition: Wednesday 6 April
Last competition: Wednesday 28 September (5-club)
Earliest starting time: 2.00 p.m..
Weekly (non-medal) fee: £2 plus 20p per blow-out. Monthly qualifying medals: see below.
Weekly prizes: Pro Shop vouchers, Stableford £10, Scratch £10, Nearest the pin £5, Longest drive £5. Non-members: One-off registration fee of £5 to cover the whole of the summer season. Non-members and members without club handicaps will only be able to win the Stableford prize once they have been given a Wednesday handicap on the basis of their scores for the first 3 games. They will be able to win any other weekly prizes immediately. To assist the chairman please write non-member at the top of your card.
Starting handicap: Club handicap. First-time participants without club handicap: own club or society handicap, maximum 18, for first three rounds.
Qualifying medal: First Wednesday of each month; proceeds to charity. Club handicap. Non-members: Wednesday handicap. For these medal rounds members please enter your Stableford score per hole from your card into the computer and hand in your cards to the chairman. Non-members please hand in your cards to the chairman. The minimum fee for the monthly charity qualifying medals is £5 for seniors and £3 for juniors.
Starting times: Balls for the early starters will go into the bag at 2.00 p.m.. If you are starting later than that you will probably need to pre-arrange a fourball. However, we are going to trial having a second balls-in-the-bag starting time at 4.00 p.m.. If you plan to start at 4.00 p.m., please let Mark or Ben know (831115), who will arrange fourballs.
Eclectic: To count for the eclectic competition birdies need to be circled on card.

Buffer is 33-37 Stableford points; i.e. no adjustment up or down between these scores. Stableford winner loses 1 additional stroke off handicap.
